Persistence
Happy September!
It has now been nearly 5 months since the worldwide pandemic was declared. And my goodness how different life has looked for all of us. The decisions our families have been forced to make going into this school year, seeing the events that we were looking forward to being canceled or postponed indefinitely, missed milestones like proms and graduations––this year has brought on A LOT that none of us saw coming.Â
And I don’t know about you, but getting ready for a new school year, no matter how that looks, seeing people returning to work, even though their protocols may be different, and watching friends and family be so intentional and creative in finding new and safer ways to stay connected has really spoken to me on the power of persistence. Â
And that is exactly the topic we are bringing to you this month: persistence. We are going to be covering things like how and why you should embrace stress instead of using your time and energy to fight it, what to do when you are feeling uninspired, why you should start your resolutions early, and of course, the power of persistence.
Our recommended reading is Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth. We chose this book because in it she shares, through much research, that one thing sets apart those who fail from those who succeed. She explains what goes through your mind when you fail is what determines what you do next and THAT makes the biggest difference and it is so powerful!
Our Practical Application Section this month includes some great tools to keep you persistent! We have included a worksheet to guide you through breaking down (and through) your obstacles, as well as some artistic note cards to remind yourself of your “why” when things get tough. We also included one of our favorites here at RSO, the Crush It Worksheet, to help you break down your goal into an actionable plan that works!
We hope this month’s exclusive content has you feeling ready to embrace change, conquer uncertainty, and crush your goals this fall!
All my best,
