I know I’ve mentioned it here before but I really, really love fall. I love everything about it and am fortunate to not suffer from seasonal depression at all (which is great since I live in Canada just North of the Pacific North West!). But even I can admit that I can’t wait for spring! I’m looking forward to saying hello to the sunshine and goodbye to the bulky winter coats. And do you want to know what else I love about spring? The motivation to spring clean and get organized!
It shouldn’t take a change of season to get in the mood to get organized but there’s just something about it that really works! To me, getting organized means a few different things: clearing out STUFF that’s weighing down my space, deep cleaning (you know, all the spots that are easy to ignore all but once a year?), and then organizing in a primarily functional way but also in a way that’s aesthetically pleasing.
So this month, we are covering all of that! We’re going to walk you through clearing out all the clutter (in just a weekend!), some surprising things Ruth learned from her experience working with a professional organizer, and a really practical piece on how to organize a super high traffic area–the snack shelf! And if you don’t have one of those yet–whether you have little ones or not!–I think you’ll leave that article rearing to make one in your kitchen!
Our Recommended Reading for this month is an obvious choice but we couldn’t not share it! It’s Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. If you haven’t read it yet, you have to! And if you have, I would be willing to bet that there are some areas of your home that could use a refresh and giving this book a re-read will get your head in the game to tackle the tough spots again!
Our Practical Application section will be sure to motivate you and support you as you embark on your spring cleaning and organizing journey of 2020! We have a Speed Cleaning checklist and a Spring Cleaning checklist, plus some awesome printables for your snack shelf project.
We hope this month’s exclusive content leaves you feeling motivated and energized to refresh your space!
All my best,
